This Sunday the 21st of June 2026 will take place the unmissable event of the summer: the Fête de la Musique.
A LITTLE HISTORY!
Project initiated in 1981 by Jack Lang, Minister of Culture, and Maurice Fleuret, Director of Music and Dance, through a major survey of French cultural practices, it is revealed that 5 million French people (including 1 in 2 young people) play a musical instrument. But that so far the organized demonstrations concern only a minority of these practitioners. The idea therefore germinated to celebrate music and musicians in all its forms, whether professional or amateur, during a free event to introduce this discipline to as many people as possible.
This is how the first Fête de la Musique was born on June 21st, 1982; a date that was not chosen at random since it celebrates the summer solstice, the longest day of the year in the northern hemisphere.
After a hasty preparation, doubt sets in because no one knows if the project will be heard. In the end, the result is beyond all expectations! Musicians take their places in the streets, kiosks, bars... and thousands of passers-by wander around late into the night to party! The success was immediate and became the most awaited popular French event.
AN EVENT THAT MAKES THE TALK!
The Fête de la Musique is so popular that from 1985 it begins to be exported abroad on the occasion of the European Year of Music, and is now developing within the framework of a European charter. Today, this charter is now accessible to all countries in the world wishing to join it.
New record, in just less than 10 years, the Fête de la Musique is present in 85 countries on 5 continents.
This year, the Fête de le Musique will be celebrated in no less than 120 countries and in more than a thousand cities around the world.

Hellebore is, above all, two voices that harmonize beautifully around a piano and a guitar, occasionally swapping instruments and captivating the audience at Ô Cèdre on our rooftop overlooking Lake Annecy from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM!
