From June 9 to 15, 2024, the
Marché International du Film d'Animation (MIFA) returns to Annecy, ready to amaze animation fans with a new edition full of surprises and innovations. This event brings together the biggest names in the industry, as well as many professionals and enthusiasts in this artistic field.
The MIFA: A flagship animation event
MIFA is recognized as THE must-attend global event for animation professionals. Over 900 international companies gather every year to celebrate the industry's creativity and technical advances. It's an opportunity for new talent to showcase their projects and make a name for themselves through pitch sessions and meetings with industry experts.
MIFA programme & guests of honour
For the 2024 edition, the MIFA is giving pride of place to Portugal, a country rich in animation tradition and creativity. Renowned directors and influential figures in Portuguese animation, such as Regina Pessoa, godmother of the MIFA 2024 Campus and designer of the event's official poster, will be on hand for conferences and special screenings.
The open-air screenings, which are very popular with the public, will take place at various emblematic locations in Annecy, including the Pâquier, the square in front of the Château d'Annecy, and the Place de l'Hôtel de Ville of Meythet. Local cinemas will also be offering a selection of animated films at reduced rates, so that everyone can enjoy this festival of animation.
The International Animations Film Festival
Alongside the MIFA, the Annecy International Animation Film Festival offers a rich and varied program. Animated shorts and features in a variety of genres and styles will be screened. This year's program includes world premieres and retrospectives on legendary studios, offering a fascinating dive into the history and evolution of animation.
Hotel Pélican gets involved
L'Impérial Palace**** and Le Pélican**** are once again partners of this prestigious event. L'Impérial Palace will host several private festival events, including conferences, pitch sessions, studio focuses, and “Meet the...” and “Share with...” meetings. Le Pélican**** will also be the venue for numerous private events, bringing together animation studios for exclusive exchanges and presentations.
